It’s not that I don’t like wedding photography, I do. And I’ve enjoyed shooting over 90 weddings in the past decade. It’s just that I’m not great at gushing about dress colours and shoes, flower choices and place settings. I don’t always get you to straighten your tie or remind you to touch up your eye makeup.

I’m not going to capture a perfect day because it’s not going to be perfect. It’s going to be great sure, but not perfect. And that is what makes a good story… imperfections.

Of course an important part of documenting the day is to capture all the details that the couple puts their time and heart into to represent the people they are and the connection they share. I’ve also been at enough weddings to know that what makes a day unique, is the unplanned moments. Together. Surrounded by all the people they love.

Capturing those moments isn’t some special combination of glitter and gush. It’s about finding the story and telling that story through meaningful images.
